Passive Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technology provides the highest tailpipe PM reduction available today (>90%), making them a popular choice for retrofit programs. However, DPF are sensitive to exhaust temperature and can plug unless they are exposed to minimum exhaust temperatures that will burn the soot they capture.Donaldson recommends a DPF Muffler if the average exhaust temperature of your application is greater than 225 celcius degree but is at least 40% over 200 celcius degree.
Donaldson DPF and LTF Mufflers are designed for 1994-2006 non-EGR model year engines using ULSD fuel.
